    3. Forex Rates and News
This FAQ section answers your questions on how to interpret the forex rates and news provided by Marketiva.

3.1. Where can I find current rates for forex instruments ?
Real-time rates for each forex instrument can be viewed in the client application. Each instrument has bid price (to sell to Marketiva), offer price (to buy from Marketiva), last traded price, change from daily open price, highest and lowest daily prices and price update time-stamp.

3.2. Why rates change colors ?
If a rate changes color to green, it means the rate in that cell just updated and is higher than the previous one. If a rate changes color to red, it means the rate in that cell just updated and is lower than the previous one.

3.3. Why # symbols show up instead of forex rates ?
When there is not enough space for the client application to show certain value in a cell, a "#" symbol is shown instead. The application does that so if a part of a number is missing you do not see a wrong number.
Simply place your mouse on the border of the column heading where the "#" symbol appears, click, and drag until you see all of the data.

3.4. When does the Change column reset ?
The global convention for the beginning and end of the forex trading day is 17:00 EST / EDT so the Change column resets itself at that time.

3.5. How can I select which currency pairs I will see ?
If you want to select specific instruments in the forex rates window, click on "Subscriptions" button and you can remove existing instruments from the upper form and add new instruments in the lower form of the dialog.

3.6. Who provides news from the Latest News window ?
Marketiva collects these news items from various sources on the internet and extracts summary and link to the news item on an external web site.

3.7. Are the news stories real-time and how to select categories ?
Some of the news stories are provided in real-time while others are delayed, depending on the news provider.
In order to select a news category, you need to click on the "Categories" button in the Latest News window.

3.8. Why the Forex Rates differ from the Chart rates ?
The reason for that difference is due to chart bars approximation. Charts are never the exact representations of the real market as the amount of market data is to large to store and represent on a graphical chart. For that reason charts show OHLC bars: Open, High, Low and Close price for each time period.

This FAQ section answers your questions regarding trading on Marketiva trading desks.

4.3. How do I choose between Mini and Standard forex account ?

4.4. Why the position Profit field is sometimes empty ?
The client application calculates your profit on each open position in real-time. However, if you unsubscribe from some of the instrument prices, you might not be able to see that indicative, real-time calculation.
For example, if you open a position on EUR/JPY the client application will need current USD/JPY rate to calculate your current profit or loss on that position in USD currency. If you unsubscribe from USD/JPY instrument, the client application will not be able to calculate and display the Profit field in the Positions window.
To resolve this, you just need to subscribe to receive USD/JPY prices by clicking the Subscriptions button in the Forex Rates window, click on Search and then double-click the USD/JPY instrument.
NOTE: When you close a position, your profit will always be calculated correctly by our dealing desk, no matter if the real-time, indicative profit is shown or not.

4.5. When do I receive or pay Overnight Interest ?
Overnight Interest or Premium is received or paid on open positions. It is a cost of carry associated with holding a position for more than one day. Marketiva has introduced Zero-Interest policy on all open positions. No overnight interest is currently charged or paid on open positions.

4.6. Do you offer automatic execution and guaranteed prices in all market conditions ?
